Please join us for this FREE film hosted by 2 local midwives, Annette Manant and Nina Millar. Our screening is funded by a generous donation from the Pacific Birth Collective (PBC). This film sets out to correct a disturbing fact - that the United States has one of the worst maternal mortality rates in the developed world. The film provides audiences with a deeper understanding of the impact of the profession of midwives and of nurses on providing solutions to this problem. In the U.S.--where more women die in childbirth than any other wealthy nation--the joys of pregnancy and motherhood are often overshadowed by fear.
