Comedy, Drama, and Adaptation. 1 hr 56 min. Filled with gentle humor and quirky small town life, this film is shot on location in Honoka'a & loosely based on events and characters written about in a novel by Leo Yoshida. The plot: a love-scorned Japanese college student, Leo (Masaki Okada) travels to Hawaii & finds work at the Honoka'a People's Theatre, meeting chef/seamstress Bee (Chieko Baisho) and beautiful Mariah (Hilo's own Jun Hasegawa).
