About the Event
Summoning his broad influences and kumu lineage, Makana weaves an intimate evening of uplifting and diverse song, stringing together mele and moʻolelo with newly invented and handed-down slack key tunings, styles and untold stories. Rooted in all things Hawaiian yet rich in cultural diversity, this rare performance draws on his beloved classics as well as on unheard, unreleased repertoire. Join Makana for a night of music to kindle the flames of culture, resilience, and a path forward.
This 2026 tour of Hawaii Island’s Historic Theatres is his gift to na Moku o Keawe, and a rare opportunity to see a local artist in his prime, at a fraction of the cost of the larger venues.
Produced by Tim Bostock Productions and Waimea Music Center.
