About the Event
Special Screening of Heritage Center’s 1-hr. documentary film,
“Roots of Resilience: Stories of Hāmākua Sugar” Based on the Honokaʻa Heritage Center’s Oral history project, the film is a one-hour documentary that shares first-person stories from local sugar workers, their families and community members that capture the impact of the sugar plantation era on the Hāmākua Coast.
