About the Event

Voice of Hiroshima: Before and After A-Bomb 2024." - Special presentation by Masafumi  Honda, University of Hawaii Japanese Studies Program, with a paper  crane, Orizuru, workshop after the presentation. 

We want to start at 1 pm and a moment of silence at 1:15 pm (8:15 am Japan time).

On a Paper Crane.  A story of Sadako, ayoung child survivor "Hibakusha" in Hiroshima.

A  young girl named Tomoko visits the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. There she  has a mysterious meeting with Sadako, the little girl who was 2 years  old when the U.S. dropped the bomb on her city during WWII and 11 when  she died from the effects of radiation poisoning. Sadako takes Tomoko on  an eye-opening journey.
